Pink Lemonade Popsicles

Can a day not pass without some sort of chemical treat trying to make its way into my children?  On their way out for a bike ride, my husband and children noticed that some neighborhood kids were selling lemonade.  My husband told the kids they could buy some, and he came in to get money.  I reminded my husband about the 10 days of real food pledge, and I said they couldn’t have the lemonade.  “Oh, yeah,” he said.  The kids came in the house next, excited about their upcoming treat.  I told them the lemonade wasn’t real food, but I would have some nice, real food lemonade waiting for them when they got home from their ride.  “Okay!” they said, and my daughter asked if they could have lemonade popsicles.  “Yes,” I said, not quite sure how one makes lemonade without white sugar.

A quick Google search didn’t help, so I had to improvise.  Here’s what I did:

7 oz. 100% fruit punch (I used a juice box)
2 tbs. lemon juice

Mix together, pour into popsicle molds, and freeze.  It tastes like pink lemonade to me!

  1. Way to improvise!

  2. Yum, I definitely need to try this. Have you made popsicles using any other juices?
