We made it to vacation week!
This is always such a welcome break for us, as winter is just getting under way here in Massachusetts. It’s a great time of year to slow down, sleep in, and spend time with family. It’s also a good time to enjoy great food together.
We weren’t home for Thanksgiving this year, so we decided on a Thanksgiving-esque menu for Christmas eve. The leftovers will be wonderful for lunches throughout the week. After that, we have a few nights of getting together with extended family and friends for dinner. Lots of feasts are in the works.
Later in the week, we’ll break out the pasta maker for a batch of homemade pasta. Regular weeknights are too busy for such a treat, so I’m trying to take advantage of the time this week. I may even make a fresh batch of marinara sauce with frozen tomatoes from our summer farm share. It will be a welcome reminder of summer during these cold days!
