Stop and Shop is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. As part of the celebration, they’re planning several events to showcase the company’s commitment to the communities they serve. The festivities kicked off during Memorial Day weekend, and the theme for the anniversary is “Fresh Ideas for 100 Years.”
On Memorial Day, Stop and Shop launched a campaign called “100 Days of Giving.” For 100 days, Stop and Shop will be surprising a different non-profit organization each day with a $1,000 donation. Organizations were nominated by Stop and Shop associates. These donations are in addition to the $15 million in donations to hunger relief organizations and children’s health and wellness programs in New England.
I love seeing my local grocery store giving back to the community. As an active PTA member at my children’s school, I’ve appreciated Stop and Shop’s commitment to our town. Whenever I shop there, a small portion of my grocery bill goes to our school through the Stop and Shop A+ program. This program has added significant money to our PTA budget, as these small amounts really do add up.
