Gulf County Florida Travel Tips - Experience a family adventure vacation on the Florida panhandle and enjoy great local food!

As we leave winter behind and head into the early days of spring, my mind naturally turns to the outdoors and travel. Those of us in the Northeast get through winter by dreaming up trips to Florida and other warm weather destinations. It’s what we do to keep sane.

This is why I love the GCFL Adventure Guide on Gulf County Florida’s travel website. There are so many different types of adventures to enjoy in this region. I’ve never been to Gulf County, but after exploring all the fun outdoor family activities my family could enjoy here, it’s definitely on my list.

Fishing in Gulf County, Florida

We have two middle school aged children, so when my family travels, adventure is always on the agenda. We all love to go out on the water in kayaks and canoes, and my son is a budding fisherman. Hiking and biking are favorites of ours, too.

Gulf County is a unique area in the Florida panhandle that boasts easy access to water of all kinds along 43 miles of coastline. Nature is undisturbed by development here, so it’s a great location for an outdoor adventure vacation. No matter where you find yourself in the county, you’re within 15 minutes of water sports, hiking, biking, snorkeling, bird watching, and ecotouring. And every trip is a little different because you never know what forms of wildlife or other surprises you’ll encounter on any given day.

  1. Tupelo honey! I’ve been using honey in my smoothies and on top of cereal. I love to put it on top of biscuits as well.

  2. Tupelo Honey. My son likes it to calm his sore throat, my wife likes it in tea. I’ll eat it straight…. 🙂
