Finding Organic & Natural Items at BJ’s
Organic products have to meet strict criteria to earn green shelf labels that you will find around the club. They must meet all USDA organic standards, have no pesticides, and no artificial fertilizers. Plus, BJ’s ensures that all ingredients:
- Are 100% natural
- Are minimally processed
- Have no artificial colors, flavors, additives, or preservatives
- Contain no GMO’s or synthetic ingredients
- Do not have hydrogenated oils or high-fructose corn syrup
You will also notice brown tags around the club to help identify natural items. These foods are guaranteed to be:
- 100% natural
- Minimally processed
- Without artificial colors, flavors, additives, or preservatives
- Without GMO’s or synthetic ingredients
- Without hydrogenated oils or high-fructose corn syrup
In the meat department, a brown shelf tag will confirm that the meat:
- Is U.S. raised on an all-vegetarian diet
- Has no antibiotics
- Has no hormones
- Contains no animal byproducts
Whenever I see a green or brown label, I can be confident that I’m feeding my family the healthiest options.
How is BJ’s Different from Costco?
- BJ’s accepts all major credit cards, whereas Costco only accepts American Express.
- The BJ’s annual membership fee is $5 to $10 less than Costco membership plans.
- BJ’s offers a discounted membership for active and retired U.S. military personnel, while Costco does not.
- BJ’s accepts manufacturer coupons, while Costco does not (see below).
Couponing at BJ’s Wholesale Club
- BJ’s accepts all manufacturer coupons, providing additional savings on top of everyday low prices.
- BJ’s allows coupon stacking. When purchasing a multipack, look for barcodes on items. Members can use one BJ’s coupon with one manufacturer coupon for each barcode. (However, you cannot exceed the retail price of the item. BJ’s does not allow overage.)
- BJ’s also accepts Buy One, Get One Free coupons. They will deduct the maximum value of the coupon as long as the price does not exceed the price of the item. BJ’s will not accept coupons that do not have a maximum value listed.
- BJ’s now participates in the Ibotta mobile coupon program. With Ibotta, you will frequently find coupons for milk, eggs, meat, and other real foods. Members may stack Ibotta coupons, BJ’s coupons, and manufacturer coupons to get really great deals.
