Welcome! My name is Annemarie Rossi. I’m the creator of Real Food Real Deals and the author of Conquering Your Kitchen. I provide recipes and tips to help families eat real, minimally processed food while maintaining a budget.
I love to travel, and I share my suggestions about family travel destinations where healthy food is readily accessible and celebrated. We’ve eaten our way through different parts of the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Visit my Real Food Travel Gallery for details.
My Family
My husband and I have introduced our teenage children to a healthy variety of food over the years. Our CSA farm share here in Massachusetts is a great source of inspiration for me as I plan my family’s meals each week.
I focus on cooking most of our food from scratch and avoiding highly processed foods. I’ve developed many easy, real food recipes that my family loves. (But full disclosure – we do indulge in some junk food, too. It’s all about balance.)
Recipe Videos
I love creating recipe videos for my own site as well as other food blogs. Please visit my recipe video services info page if you’d like to hire me to create your next video. I’ve filmed hundreds of Tasty-style recipe videos, and I enjoy seeing them inspire people to get in the kitchen and cook.
I was honored to give a presentation about how to film and edit recipe videos at the Blog Brulee conference in 2018. As a professional videographer, it’s a priority for me to share my expertise and help teach other bloggers about how to reach their audiences through healthy recipe videos.
Real Food Real Deals Achievements
Real Food Real Deals includes over 500 healthy, family-friendly recipes. My work has been featured in the Non-GMO Cookbook and Holy Cross Magazine, as well as around the web on NBC News, Reader’s Digest, and Buzzfeed. My cookbook, Conquering Your Kitchen, was published in June 2014.
I’ve partnered with many of my favorite brands to highlight quality whole food ingredients, kitchen equipment, and family travel destinations.
About My Recipes
Real: I use ingredients that are as close to the source as possible. I usually stay away from white flour, white sugar, and other highly processed ingredients. Many of my recipes are also gluten-free and dairy-free because I feel healthier and more energetic when I limit these ingredients in my diet.
Easy: If it takes more than 30 minutes to prepare a recipe, chances are slim that I’ll be making it. I’m a busy mom with a lot of commitments, so I can’t get bogged down by complicated, time-consuming recipes.
Affordable: I break down the cost of most recipes, so you can see how much you can save by making things yourself. Prices do vary according to where you live, but my price breakdowns will give you a general idea of the cost of different recipes.
Lots of Flavor: Just because we’re focusing on healthy food doesn’t mean we need to sacrifice on taste! I love great-tasting food, and I don’t settle for less. I test my recipes several times to make sure they come out well every time.

Hello Annemarie, can I make the GF Millet Bread in a bread machine?
Thank you
Annemarie says
I haven’t tried this recipe in a bread machine, so I can’t say for sure. Sorry! Please let me know if you try it.

Hi I was looking over your recipe for the raspberry overnight oats and thought that 2 cups of raspberries sounded like a lot. I watched the video and you don’t add many raspberries to the oats so I was wondering if this was an error in the recipe?
Annemarie says
Mary, that’s not a typo. The recipe makes 4 servings, and I recommend 1/2 cup of raspberries per serving (some in the middle and some on top). Feel free to adjust the amount of berries to suit your tastes.

I made the ricotta recipe and it takes just like when I was a child!!! Can the recipe be increased?

Hi Annemarie, I tried making the chia pudding and the chia seeds never expanded and it stayed liquidy. What am I doing wrong?
Annemarie says
Gina, which one of my chia seed recipes did you try? I would recommend adding more chia seeds one tablespoon at a time until it starts to thicken. There can be some variation in different brands of chia seeds.
Gina says
Annemarie, I did not try your chia pudding recipe, I got it from a cookbook, but it is the same as yours. Maybe it was the seeds that I was using-I bought them loose at Whole Foods. I will try another brand.
