This homemade ranch dressing is so flavorful! It's a healthy, kid-friendly recipe featuring Greek yogurt, and it makes a great salad dressing, too.

My children love ranch dressing, but I stopped buying it when we made the switch to real food. Salad time can get stressful when I don’t have an easy dressing I can turn to that my children will eat, so I decided to make my own ranch dressing.

I wanted to put together a homemade version that didn’t have mayonnaise in it, so I’ve been experimenting with homemade Greek yogurt. This version came out delicious, and it works well as a dip too.

Greek yogurt is also a great base for dipping fruit. Try my honey yogurt dip with fresh fruit for a healthy snack. And visit my other homemade dressing recipes for more ideas about how to add flavor to your veggies.

Homemade Ranch Dressing Price Breakdown

This recipe costs $.39 for a half cup of dressing. The Marzetti version that I used to buy costs $4.49 for a 15 ounce jar, or $1.12 per half cup. The store-bought version costs about 3 times as much as my homemade dressing, and my dressing has all the nutritional benefits of yogurt.

Thanks, Brittany! This recipe keeps for several days in the fridge. I’ve never tried to keep it for more than a week. You can make a half batch if you’re not sure you’ll get to it all.

Thanks for linking to our first Eat Make Grow Blog Hop! I love homemade dressing! I make a similar one with dill/onions/garlic in Greek Yogurt. So much healthier and cheaper. I love that you have the pricing all worked out. It’s nice to know that it’s good for my wallet too!

We are already on to Blog Hop #2. I hope you’ll come and link to that one as well. Feel free to link to any older posts if you think they are timely and pertinent.

Thanks, Jill! Don’t you love making your own yogurt? It’s so easy, it tastes better than store-bought, and it’s a lot cheaper.
