This spinach strawberry walnut salad is a delicious way to eat your greens. The sweet dressing is the perfect topping for this healthy salad recipe.
This spinach strawberry walnut salad always makes me think of summer. The fresh flavors of summer produce are the stars of this simple recipe.
While some picky eaters may balk at spinach, they’ll actually enjoy it in this salad. The sweet vinaigrette and juicy strawberries are the perfect complement to the fresh greens, and the walnuts give this dish a nice crunch.
You can make this salad your own by adding avocado, scallions, or other nuts. It’s so simple and delicious.
Spinach Strawberry Walnut Salad Tips
I like to use baby spinach for this recipe. The stems can be removed if desired, and the size is just the right proportion with the strawberry slices. If you use larger spinach leaves, you can chop them into bite-sized pieces.
The salad should be dressed right before serving. If you’re not going to eat all the salad in one sitting, only dress the portion you’ll be eating. Store the remaining salad and dressing separately in the refrigerator.
How Long Does Spinach Last in the Fridge?
If you’re using a bag of pre-packaged spinach, check the date on the package. For fresh loose spinach, I like to wash it as soon as I get home from the store. Then I store it in a large container with a piece of paper towel for up to a week. See this post for more details about how to properly store fresh greens.
