This chocolate peanut butter smoothie is a healthy snack that will satisfy your dessert cravings. It’s full of protein, calcium, and probiotics, plus a little fruit. That’s not bad for something that tastes so good.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie Tips
This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled if you’re feeding a crowd. Drink this smoothie after a workout, or give it to your kids after school. It will provide a burst of nutrition disguised as a treat.
Smoothies are very flexible, so feel free to play with the recipe. If you like the tang of yogurt, add more yogurt and less milk. To avoid dairy, substitute non-dairy milk and yogurt. If you don’t like bananas, throw in a few dates instead. Substitute another nut butter, or use sunflower seed butter if there’s a nut allergy in the family. There’s no limit to the number of combinations that work well for smoothies.

Delicious smoothie. I also added a handful of raw almonds a scoop of vanilla protein and only used a little bit of honey. So good and so fattening. LUNCH AND DINNER!!!
I’m glad you enjoyed it, Maggie.
I discovered a trick a while ago to add great textrure to my chocolate banana smoothies. When bananas get too ripe, I slice them up (in 1″ chunks) and put them in a container in the freezer (usually 7-8 slices per banana). It makes the smoothie thicker like ice would but doesn’t water it down.
That’s a great tip, Heather. I always freeze ripe bananas whole, and then when I’m defrosting them I think, “Why didn’t I slice this before I froze it?” Next time!
