Meal planning is essential, but it’s so easy to let it slip through the cracks. If you read my blog regularly, you may think I’m always on top of the food details in my house. That’s definitely not accurate. Some weeks, I’m good at getting a meal plan together. But other times I use work obligations, travel, or my children’s extracurricular activities as an excuse to skip meal planning.

In an effort to make regular meal planning an ingrained habit in my weekly schedule, I’m going to start posting my weekly dinner menu plans. For the next few months, I’ll post my meal plan each Monday. Hopefully this will be a helpful resource to those of you looking for new ideas. If not, at least I won’t find myself scrambling to figure out what’s for dinner throughout the week.

This Week’s Meal Plan

Monday: Sloppy Joes, whole wheat yogurt biscuits, salad

Tuesday: Pumpkin macaroni and cheese, roasted cauliflower, carrot sticks

Wednesday: Out to dinner (pasta)

Thursday: Sloppy Joes, whole wheat yogurt biscuits, green beans

Friday: Taco Night

Saturday: Chicken, potato green bean soup, salad

Sunday: Quiche, baked potatoes, broccoli

  1. Annemarie,
It is a great idea to put together a meal plan–good on you for doing it!
Now the ‘peek behind the scenes’ person that I am . . . I’d love to know how this meal plan turned out in reality! Did you stick with it, or have last minute changes?

    1. Great question, Kirsten! These things are always a work in progress. I didn’t get around to making biscuits on Monday, so we served the sloppy joes on baked potatoes. I didn’t make it to the store that had cauliflower on sale, so we had broccoli instead on Tuesday. I didn’t end up putting pumpkin in the mac ‘n cheese because the kids wanted it plain this time. We’ll see how next week goes!

    1. Thanks, Keri! We do taco night every other week too. I’d love to do it weekly, but I’m afraid the little people would revolt.

  2. Your menu looks good. My kids love sloppy joes and seeing your menu reminded me we haven’t had them in a while.
