Pomegranate juice is a delicacy in my house. There’s just something about that tart, sweet flavor that has us all fighting over the last glass.

It’s one of the more expensive juices, but a little bit goes a long way. In this pomegranate smoothie recipe, I use just one cup of pomegranate juice for three servings. Even with only one-third of a cup per serving, the pomegranate flavor is the star here.

I love the flavor combination of this smoothie. The blueberries and banana add the right amount of sweetness to counter the tartness of the juice. The coconut milk gives it a tropical hint, but you can use a different type of milk if you don’t care for coconut. It’s amazing how much flavor you can get from just four simple ingredients!

I like to make this pomegranate smoothie without yogurt or other dairy products. It’s an allergy-friendly drink that just about anyone can enjoy.

When making a smoothie, always place the liquid ingredients in the blender before the solid ingredients. This helps the blender to function properly and quickly puree the ingredients.

This sounds so delicious! Even though it’s getting cold here, I still pinned this one into our meal plan for the week! Can’t wait to try it!

Pomegranate really gives this smoothie a beautiful color. I usually use almond milk for smoothies but coconut milk works so well for this!

Yum! My 5 year old is learning to de-seed poms in her montessori classroom and has been asking for some at home – she will love this!

  4. I love to make drinks out of it – it’s gorgeous mixed with orange juice! Also, boil it down and make pom molasses! An incredible condiment to have in the kitchen!

  5. The color alone makes me want to drink this! Love the simplicity of just 4 ingredients. Now I know what I’ll be doing with all of the over-ripe bananas I keep freezing!
